Dear Porky,
We rattled along the Gibb River Road, corrugation on the road sometimes up to 10cm deep and challenging for car and passengers. Ellenbrae Station is located approx. 199km west of Kunurrura, with the homestead another 4.5km north of the road. We managed on this road driving through a river to puncture our first tyre, 20 minutes later the spare tyre is on. We camped here for 3 days we loved it so much. The campsite has one toilet, one shower, one bathtub. The water gets heated with 3 pieces of firewood in an enormous modified gadget called donkey. Along a small walk way we found a lovely secluded billabong and HE had a swim in it, while SHE finished her book 'The Border Trilogy' by Cormac Mc Carthy. Very fitting for this trip SHE said. We set out early in the morning the sun in our back shining onto the rocks and trees in the most beautiful red and orange colours. Hopefully the road will improve.
Cheers, your Petunia
