Dear Porky,
We had a lovely time with Di, they drank a lot of Vodka cranberry and shortly before lunch we were off direction Kununurra, the border town of WA.
After a quick shopping trip at Coles ( what would we do without the multi nationals) inKununurra we headed for El Questro Station. El Questro is a still working cattle station of about one million acres. It was purchases bit by bit by an aboriginal drover who used to like Texan adventure books and created one drunken night the name El Questro for his station. He went into partnership with somebody but they could not run the station successfully and sold it for 1$ per acre. The new owners , husband and wife (she is a the daughter of one of the Coles Myer emporium), he comes another wealthy family pumped in 1million $ every year to make this one of the most spectacular attractions around. Last season they made the first time a profit after 14 years. You can camp, you can have accommodations of all kind, the luxury accommodation at the edge of the Chamberlain Gorge sets you back a lazy $ 1750 - $2450 per night per person French champagne included. Camping in private setting set us back $30p/p per night.it certainly was worth to stay 4 nights. We visited the Zebedee thermal springs, El Questro Gorge, moon gorge, Chamberlain Gorge and Emma Gorge, all of them incredible. While crossing the Pentecost we lost our front rego plate, but 60cm water depth have a fair bit of pressure.
